HKUST offers scholarships for both local and non-local entrants. Details of eligibility and application procedures for the 2025/26 cohort are as follows:
Students with 40 or more total points in the IB (including bonus points) will be awarded IB Diploma Scholarship funding. Details are as follows:

To recognize the academic achievements of students, HKDSE students attaining Level 5**/5* in one or more Category A subjects or M1 / M2 in one single sitting of HKDSE will be eligible. The HKDSE Scholarships range from HKD5,000 to a full scholarship of "Full tuition fee plus living allowance of HKD60,000" per annum, renewable for normative duration of study.
Students do not have to apply for these scholarships. The University will identify qualifying HKDSE entrants and inform selected students of the scholarship awards in due course.

The results of Mathematics Extended Module 1 (Calculus & Statistics) and Mathematics Extended Module 2(Algebra & Calculus) are also considered as independent subjects for fulfilling the requirements of the Scholarship Scheme.

The results of Applied Learning subjects and Other Language subjects will not be considered in the scholarship scheme.

Admissions scholarships are also awarded to top students with other qualifications based on academic merit.
Applicants are considered for these scholarships holistically, based on their profiles. Awards may be one-off or renewable, and may fully or partially waive tuition fees. The largest amount of scholarship funding is equivalent to the full tuition fee plus an allowance of HKD60,000 per academic year, renewable for the normative duration of study (subject to satisfactory academic performance).
No separate application is needed. Normally, applicants are notified of our scholarship decision when they receive their offer of admissions.

The Hong Kong Jockey Club Chairman’s Scholarship is a prestigious and generous scholarship that aims to attract students with exceptional academic achievements to pursue their undergraduate studies in Hong Kong.
Eligibility
- Demonstrate exceptional standard of academic performance;
- Have a strong intention and likelihood to matriculate in a UGC-funded undergraduate programme at any one of the eight UGC-funded institutions or an undergraduate programme at the HKAPA for their first undergraduate degree; and
- Be taking their university-entrance public examination for the first time in the same academic year as the time of their application.
- The Scholarship is open to students in Hong Kong as well as students from Mainland China and other countries and regions.
Selection Criteria
- The applicant’s track record of academic excellence such as the achievement of 5** in five or more subjects and "Attained" level in Citizenship and Social Development in the HKDSE or 45 out of 45 in the International Baccalaureate Diploma (or equivalent in other public examinations);
- The applicant’s leadership and non-academic achievements;
- The applicant’s commitment to service and improving the lives of others; and
- The applicant’s financial condition may be considered when applicants are of equal standing.
Scholarship Coverage
The scholarship supports students to pursue their undergraduate studies in Hong Kong:
- A one-off cash award at scholarship acceptance
- Full tuition fee, academic and living allowance for the entire normative duration of study towards an undergraduate degree programme
- Overseas learning subsidies
- An opportunity to participation in The Hong Kong Jockey Club Scholarships overseas leadership programme

Interested students should apply to this scholarship before they enter university and in their last year of secondary school. Students currently studying in secondary schools in Hong Kong should apply through principal nomination. Each secondary school in Hong Kong can nominate up to three students with exceptional academic performance for this scholarship. The WISE Scholarship was set up to encourage top caliber female students in the JUPAS pool to join our School of Science, School of Engineering or Academy of Interdisciplinary Studies. Female students with a strong interest in science or engineering who obtain Level 5** in at least one Category A subject are eligible for consideration for the WISE Scholarship. On top of academic strengths, WISE Scholars are expected to demonstrate non-academic talents, achievements in science and technology competitions, and good interview performance. Students do not have to apply for the scholarship. The University will identify qualifying JUPAS entrants and inform selected students of the scholarship awards in due course.
In the 2025/26 intake, each awardee will receive funding ranging from a one-off award of HKD10,000 to a renewable award of HKD20,000 p.a., and will also be entitled for the University Admissions Scholarship Scheme for HKDSE Holders#. The number of awardees will vary from year to year depending on the academic and non-academic merits of the eligible candidates, as well as the available funding.

The Hong Kong Jockey Club Striding On Scholarship aims to recognise students who have achieved excellence while demonstrating resilience and strength of mind to overcome adversities or challenges in life. These may include but are not limited to: challenges that arise from special education needs or other forms of disabilities, health needs, prejudices on account of the individual’s race, gender or religious beliefs, hardships of all types (financial or otherwise), or other extenuating personal or familial circumstances.

About the Step into STEM Scholarship
- The Step into STEM Scholarship is a non-academic Scholarship designed to provide financial assistance to 10 secondary school girls from underserved backgrounds in Hong Kong, who are admitted to a full-time STEM degree in the 2025/26 academic year.
- The Scholarship is intended to fund Tuition Fees for the first year of university.
Scholarship requirements:
- Be a local Secondary 6 female student who intends to apply to UGC-funded universities through JUPAS;
- Apply and be accepted onto a full-time Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics(STEM) related university undergraduate program in Hong Kong for the 2025/ 2026 academic year;
- Demonstrate a strong interest in STEM subjects; and
- Meet the Means Test requirements as outlined in the Application Guidelines to ensure students meet the eligibility criteria of needing financial assistance.
Steps to apply:
- Apply to STEM degree at a university in Hong Kong for the academic year 2025/26, before the JUPAS deadline
- Apply to the Morgan Stanley Step into STEM Scholarship Program
- Applications will be reviewed and shortlisted candidates will be notified to meet with Morgan Stanley
- Successful applicants will be informed after JUPAS results announcement and scholarship payment will be made directly to the university

Top scorers in Joint Entrance Examination for Universities in PRC (JEE) will be considered for the scholarship. Each scholarship is equivalent to full tuition fee plus an allowance of HKD60,000 per academic year, renewable for the normative duration of study (subject to satisfactory academic performance).
Students do not have to apply for the Scheme. All Mainland JEE top scorers are automatically considered for the award. The University will select qualified students and inform the selected students of the scholarship awards in due course.
