Ellison Scholars Programme

The newly-launched Ellison Scholars programme is now open for applications for students who aspire to innovate in science, engineering and technology to solve global problems. Applications for the 2025 Undergraduate Cohort of Ellison Scholars are now open!

The scholarship programme represents the opportunity of a lifetime and is both academic and entrepreneurial. Scholars will benefit from fully-funded undergraduate or graduate study at the University of Oxford with a uniquely generous stipend that also covers the equivalent of innovation internships. Ellison Scholars will work shoulder-to-shoulder with world leading experts on interdisciplinary projects. These projects, using EIT’s state-of-the-art facilities in Oxford and Los Angeles, will advance technology for the benefit of humanity across four areas of scientific & technological innovation:

•    health and medical science
•    food security and sustainable agriculture,
•    climate change and clean energy, and
•    government innovation and era of artificial intelligence.

Successful candidates will receive:

  1. Fully funded tuition fees for Ellison Scholars’ chosen undergraduate or graduate degree at the University of Oxford and an annual cost of living grant (paid monthly);
  2. The opportunity to work on innovation projects aimed at solving global problems through technology;
  3. Year-round project work alongside their university studies, and full-time engagement during the summer break; and
  4. EIT will cover travel between a Scholar’s home and Oxford each year, any additional travel as needed for the programme, and provide initial set up funds, e.g. to purchase new technology needed for studies.
